History of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Monroe is a part of the “Mother Church” of the Carolinas District of the NALC. It has a history dating back to 1889 and a congregation that nurtured the growth of the Lutheran faith throughout the region. Our building is solidly constructed of locally produced brick. It is replete with detailed and ornate stained glass. Its worship services are traditional, built around a centuries-old liturgy and accented by weekly communion.

But a church is far more than a building, or even a set of traditions. It is a living, thriving community of faith in Jesus Christ.
